Japanese Masking Tape

Love these Japanese masking tapes that come in a variety of colors and patterns. Are they cute to look at? Yes. Where would you use them? Not exactly sure. Shop here if you can find a reason.

Montauk's Latest Hotel

From the same people who brought The Surf Lodge to Montauk, King and Grove’s latest venture is open for business this summer. Ruschmeyers plays up the nostalgia factor with a summer camp theme that doesn’t feel too kitschy.

There are 19 rooms, all with wicker-threaded headboards, curtains strung like sails, hammock-like hanging chairs, gold light fixtures and Frette linens. Their restaurant has seasonal produce and seafood from the guys behind New York’s Fat Radish. And there’s that teepee on the front lawn!

I really love the aesthetics of this place.. and that general store looks amazing! I need that canvas bag. Read more here.

Brass Pens

I find that instead of carrying my laptop around the office with me, lately I've been using my Moleskin notebook and a pen to take notes. Definitely not complaining about it, but I think I need a better (cuter) tool to do so with. I've got my eye on these brass options. Shop here and here.

Currently Craving: Kate Spade Old Fashioneds

I was recently shopping at Santa Monica's Wertz Brothers Antiques (one of my favorite stores in L.A.) and found these amazing vintage Ralph Lauren old fashioned glasses. Then, I came across these even more adorable options from Kate Spade. Definitely need 8 of them, and I could only find 4 of the RL version, so these are definitely on my list. Shop here.

Theme for the Summer

I love this pillow by Jonathan Adler. Too funny. Shop here.

Sheridan French

Driven to design since a young age, Sheridan French created her first ball gown at the age of 12 with the assistance of her great grandmother and has never looked back.

While studying in Europe and obtaining her Masters degree, she continued to pursue her passion for design by participating in several fashion shows. She worked behind the scenes, designed her own collections and modeled, which lead her to a position at the Prada Press Office in London. All of this continued to drive her desire to one day have her own label. Now back in her home town of Fort Worth, Texas with a family of her own, and fashion editor of Fort Worth, Texas Magazine, she has launched Sheridan French, a chic line of bright, ethnic dresses. Brooklyn Rod and Gun

Leave it to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to create another theme bar. Brooklyn Rod and Gun, a social club on Kent Avenue, was started by a group of fathers as a place to play music and talk about their outdoor adventures. The club brings together fishing and hunting enthusiasts, mostly men, though women are welcome, too.

At its root, BRG is a place to hang out and meet fellow outdoors-lovers (down to their fly-tying tutorials on Mondays). The Calamity Janes performed a couple of weekends ago, and decor includes tacked-up fishing maps of the Catskills and Newtown Creek, the backdrops for a makeshift stage. A club membership costs $100, but anyone can get in for $10 a night. See more at The New York Times here.

The Burning House

If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Each image below acts as an interview condensed into one question. See it all here.

Beauty Must-Haves

I'm definitely not one to overdo the makeup. I barely know how to apply it without looking like a 5 year-old going through her mother's vanity. So, I keep it pretty simple, and I've found that these products have been my go-to's for the past couple of years.

Everything is a Remix

This is a really interesting video on the elements of creativity and how we create something new through transformation. Highly recommended viewing, especially for the blog world.

Anthropologie Dresses

Loving these summer dresses from Anthropologie. The off white embroidered dress is super cute on. Shop here.

Kate Spade Color of the Month: Orange

A little bit late on this one, but here's the latest edition to Kate Spade's 'Color of the Month' video from May on the color orange. By New York-based design firm, Language Department.

Artist Spotlight: Caitlin McGauley

Loving these black and white illustrations by watercolor artist and illustrator Caitlin McCauley. She created these large prints (about 4' wide each) for Ralph Lauren a few months ago and they currently hang in one of their New York showrooms. See more of her work and adorable blog here.

At Home with Malene Birger

Inside fashion designer Malene Birger's home. There's not much to hate about this place.

Bulgari Hotel and Residences

Scheduled to open in Spring 2012, the Bulgari Hotel and Residences will bring a sense of haute design to London’s Knightsbridge district. The 85-room hotel will include six residences and one penthouse. Designed to sustainable standards by Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel and Partners, it's located near Harrods, Harvey Nichols, the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum.

“The Bulgari name stamps this opportunity to own in Knightsbridge with international provenance and a promise of excellence,” says Giles Hannah, Director of European Sales for Christie's International Real Estate. The London location will mark the third Bulgari hotel, with other properties in Bali and Milan.

An Argument for Looking at Books Instead of Reading Them

In 2006, Andy Spade curated this installation that celebrated beautiful book covers, posters and post cards for the Kate Spade handbag line. After traveling to Japan, the exhibition, named 'An Argument for Looking at Books instead of Reading Them,' ended at Colette in Paris.

Of the exhibit, Colette noted, “...Andy is as impressed with striking, unusual book jackets as he is with quality literature. From art exhibition catalogs found in second-hand bins to rare first edition titles, the book collection has been built to surround Kate Spade product and give dimension to the company’s aesthetic.” I'd love to do a wall similar to this in my apartment.

Artist Spotlight: Vincent Pachego

I like these cigarette paintings by artist Vincent Pachego. Pretty simple, but kind of fun at the same time. They remind me of those old cigarette dispensers found at old-timey diners. Ok, no more posts on cigarettes. I don't even smoke (when I'm not having a drink)! See more here!

Vintage Vornado Fans

I love these vintage Vornado fans. Even if they don't work, they could add a touch of World War II-era decor to your desk or nightstand at home. Shop ebay here.

The Director's Chair

Instead of some unoriginal bar stools for my kitchen bar, I've decided to get some director's chairs. An unlikely choice, but after seeing these images, I think it'll actually work quite well. I think I'll go with the bamboo option with white canvas.
